Blog Journal 10
1) I think I will use surveys(data collection) as a teacher when communicating with parents. I want to teach kindergarteners so they won't know how to use computers or access surveys. Therefore, when I have questions for them, I will just ask them to raise their hand or something else in person. I will use surveys to email my student's parents when asking them about which class activity they'd prefer their child do or other questions regarding trips, class activities and etc.
2) I really enjoy reading my classmate's blogs and seeing perspectives of other students who are interested in education just like me. A topic that I found interesting from reviewing my classmate's blogs is that the vast majority of us are all not a fan of distant learning. I find it interesting that we all utilize our technologies to do everything but we aren't enjoying only using technology in our classroom. You would assume that my generation would cling to the idea of having school in bed and on our devices but it's much harder and the content load is way greater so we aren't. Another interesting topic that I found from my classmate's blog is how much they enjoyed making their web page. This is interesting to me because I think it's so important that we learn and have fun and that assignment was very engaging and rewarding.
3) The technology-related skill that I want to learn next is how to master the smartboard. I want to learn what all the tools on a smart board are and I want to learn how to incorporate learned tools into my instruction as a teacher. I want to learn this skill because I've seen so many of my old teachers call the technology person at my school because they needed help with it.I hope that we go over this skill in our class this semester so that I can have great instruction. I think I can do this by looking up youtube tutorials and finding scholarly articles on smart boards and how they work. Also, my grandmother is a retired teacher so i can always ask her what she did in her classroom since she has so much experience with a smart board.
Hi Ariel,
ReplyDeleteI agree with your plan for using surveys later on in your own classroom. I plan on teaching younger students too, and I think it would be difficult to have them use surveys in class. I hadn’t thought about using surveys to communicate with parents though, that’s a great idea!
